- Legal services provided by lawyers are legal consultations (advice on legal matters), preparation of documents having legal significance, representation on legal matters, defence and representation in court proceedings, when these actions are performed for remuneration, except for the case specified in paragraph 5 of Article 4 of this Law.
- The services specified in paragraph 1 of this Article may be provided by lawyers (lawyer’s assistants) or a law partnership. When services are provided by or through a law partnership, the provisions of this Law apply to it mutatis mutandis as to a lawyer.
- Lawyer citizens of European Union member states, European Economic Area states or the Swiss Confederation shall provide services in accordance with the procedure established by the twelfth and thirteenth sections of this Law. As used further in this Law, the term “European Union member state” includes European Union member states, European Economic Area states and the Swiss Confederation; the term “lawyers of European Union member states” includes lawyer citizens of European Union member states, European Economic Area states or the Swiss Confederation; and the term “citizen of a European Union member state” includes citizens of European Union member states, European Economic Area states, the Swiss Confederation, and other natural persons who enjoy the rights granted to them by European Union legal acts to be employed or to pursue self-employment activities in European Union member states.
- The conditions and procedure for the provision of state-guaranteed legal aid are regulated by other laws.
